About me
My name is Ella
I am a trained horticulturist with over five years of professional experience, having worked across a diverse range of settings including botanical gardens, private estates and plant nurseries.
My horticultural training began at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, where I developed a strong foundation in plant knowledge, cultivation, and garden management while working within one of the UK's most respected botanical collections.
I later undertook a research project for the Merlin Trust at the Eden Project, exploring plant conservation and horticultural practice within a world-renowned botanical setting.

Throughout my career, I have contributed to a range of prestigious horticultural exhibits, including displays at Hampton Court Palace (pictured below), the Gardeners’ World Spring Fair, and Wisley’s Spring Ornamental Exhibition. These experiences have provided valuable insight into garden design, installation, and the art of thoughtful plant presentation.
Today, I combine this professional background with a passion for sustainable horticulture, helping clients create and maintain healthy, beautiful gardens that thrive throughout the seasons.

About Ella's Plantas
Ella's Plantas is a horticultural business rooted in a passion for plants, biodiversity, and gardens that thrive in harmony with nature.
Through tailored planting schemes, garden health plans, and ongoing care, I help create healthy, resilient gardens using sustainable, nature-led practices.
With a particular interest in edible, medicinal, and pollinator-friendly planting, my aim is to create beautiful outdoor spaces that support wildlife, provide year-round interest, and foster a deeper connection to the natural world.
Alongside Ella's Plantas, I run Nourished by Nature, a seasonal catering project providing nourishing, plant-focused food for retreats, wellbeing events, workshops, and gatherings. Rooted in a connection to nature and seasonal ingredients, I create thoughtful menus that bring people together around fresh, wholesome food.
Through Ella's Plantas, I also share seasonal gardening tips, recipes, herbal knowledge, and reflections on sustainable living on my blog, exploring the connections between plants, food, and wellbeing.
